Tent Revival
Rural Georgia, mid-'70s by Barbara McKenzie
I’m so very appreciative that my use of social media almost exclusively as a tool has, at least, had moderate effect. Top tier photographers, designers, A&R bozos, lawyers, archivists, historians and just plain old civilians have been unbelievably supportive and inquisitive about the materials our non-profit has acquired. Take this photo, f’r instance. I’ve gotten Barbara McKenzie’s first two exhibits buttoned up, but now I’ve got an exhibit up in Buckhead to reconcile. Staring at these photos have given me so many countless ideas to pursue including that of just rural Georgia tent revivals. While I’m not using this photo in the near future, it’s just an unrelenting salvo of superior photography (and digitization, if I can toot my own horn) that is going to make advocating for this material such a joy. As I’ve said elsewhere, there’s not a lick of information on this photo other than it’s from a tent revival somewhere in Georgia. Eternal gratitude to those that have reached out about Barbara’s photos.
